I have been up to Sunshine twice now, with family members. We get the adjoining rooms, and it works out great. Everyone we have been up there with just loves it and the atmosphere there.. its very cosy and outdoorsy.. a very short walk across and through the woods is lake superior to a beach almost all to your own, its beautiful! and relaxing! if you like to swim, or just relax on the sand, its there! and the lake it so crystal clear! along with a bonfire everynight, and there are so many pretty sights to go to up there that anyone will just direct you in the right way..(one lady i was with saw there was a best western or something up the road, and said why didnt we get that?, i said are you kidding me? you just dont get that feeling of being up in the woods there, like you do at sunshine..just my opinion though :) ) ... one of my favorite things to do while visiting, is eating at the resturant, (that is a few miles up the road), while watching the wild bears come in and eat!!!!

A Sunshine Motel stay & meeting Bruce & Kay and their critters MUST be on every visitor's "bucket list". I can't say it is the best place to be because calling it "best" is an understatement! Lifelong memories to treasure!

my family and i had a great time at the sunshine motel! rooms were nice and cozy. beachfront right across the street....love their dogs too. would definitly go back!

What an absolutely wonderful time my sister and I had at Kay and Bruce Perkin's Sunshine Motel and Cabins. Not only are the facilities immaculate but each room is appropriately decorated in an "up north" theme that makes you feel like you are a million miles away from the city. The rates are extremely reasonable and my little dog Eddie was welcomed and had a great time walking the trails with me and enjoying the sunset on Lake Superior. I give this lovely setting a five star rating and plan to make reservations well in advance for my vacation next time.

we have been there twice. bruce & kay are the most wonderful people. they make you feel right at home along with your pets.their cabins are awesome and very clean. they see to all your needs.they also do a fire at nite and serve s'mores to all at the fireside.

Our 5th stay, and counting

We have such a wonderful time in the UP and Sunshine is the only place we'll stay. We have been at the competitors, but they can't hold a candle to Bruce and Kay's place. We are greeted like family when we arrive, and can't feel more at home anywhere else. THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE!!!
