The Sunshine Motel Policies

In person payments: All balances due for motel rooms are to be paid at check-in. 100% of cabin rentals will be collected thirty (30) days prior to your arrival. Payments can be made by cash or credit card only; Master Card, VISA, Discover, and American Express are all accepted. All reservations will still require a major credit card to cover theft or damages. Please be aware that the policies for large groups may differ.

Online booking payment: Currently there are two options for online booking payment. Pay by credit card or pay offline. The first requires full payment upfront all refund policies are still in effect. There will be a 3.5% cancelation fee applied to all pre-paid reservations. The payment offline option is the same as in person payment. Please know we will contact you for a major credit card to hold the room, if we are unable to reach you, after several attempts, your reservation may be canceled (cabin payment will still be charged thirty (30) days in advance of your reservation.)

There must be an adult of at least 21 years of age to sign for a room (no I.D. no room.)

Motel room cancellation must be made by 7am EST forty-eight (48) hours before your arrival date. We are sorry, but after the forty-eight (48) hour time frame, will charge the card on file for the stay, any part re-rented will be refunded minus a 3.5% credit card processing fee.

Cabin cancellation must be made a minimum of one (1) month before your scheduled arrival for a full refund if paid in advance. After 30 days you will be responsible for the full charge less any days that we may rent minus a 3.5% credit card processing fee. (Policies may change in the winter.) Any room with a kitchen may be considered a cabin (up to the discretion of management.)

Reservations during holiday's, all School Reunion, or the Porcupine Mountain Music Festival do have the same non-refundable policies as the cabins with cancelations needing to be made a minimum of 30 days in advance.

A no call/no show will result in cancellation of reservation and the loss of the full amount owed (up to the discretion of management.)

No overnight vehicle camping. RV's, pop-ups, or converted vans/cars are not allowed on site: We do not have the facilities nor the permits to host RV's.

Dogs are welcome: There is a limit of two dogs allowed per room with a weight limit of 50lbs for each dog. A $15.00 fee per dog, per visit, will apply. Please see all DOG RULES HERE.

All cabins are housekeeping units. Dishes must be washed and put away before departure. Housekeeping service is not available, as we do not allow anyone to enter the cabin/room after it is rented to you. Everyday cleaning is the responsibility of the guest. Please be aware that in the cabins there is a minimum $25.00 charge for cleaning services if the dishes are not washed and properly stored in their respective cabinets excessive cleaning may cost more. If you would like clean towels, bring your used towels to the office and we will be happy to issue fresh towels in exchange.

Damages nor theft will be tolerated. You will be solely responsible for all costs related to damages or theft incurred during your stay.

Any weapons on property must be unloaded at all times!

All visitors must be off of the property by 11pm EST. Please ask management about guest parking.

No smoking is allowed in rooms, cabins, hallways, stairways, or enclosed areas. It is Michigan law. There will be a $100.00 cleaning charge for anyone caught smoking or the smell of smoke is found in the room or cabin you rented, as well as a possible $250.00 fine from the state.

Management reserves the right to refuse services to any guest and or animal, and make revisions to these policies as needed in an ever changing world.
